De Atramentis inks come in a spool-shaped, glass bottle. The labels are simple but are surprisingly informative. They describe the color of the ink, particularly if it's a repackaged ink (like how Alexander Hamilton is just re-labeled Aubergine).
De Atramentis Petrol is a minty blue-green.
For information on how I do my reviews, please visit my policy page.
De Atramentis Petrol has almost no water resistance to speak of. Most of it will wash away when it comes in contact with water.
It also doesn't take too long to dry. It was smudge-free in under 30 seconds.
The ink has a nice amount of shading even in a finer nib.
On Tomoe River paper, the shading stands out. There isn't any sheen here.
It's very similar to Colorverse Pale Blue Dot, though Petrol is a bit lighter and greener. Diamine Marine is much brighter and more blue. Nagasawa Kobe Aotani Cascade Green is brighter and a tad more green.
I have this ink in my Fuliwen 16 with a Fountain Pen Revolution 1.0 mm nib. I'll write a review of this pen eventually. It has a wet flow, so it's a fun ink to use.
